Update 4/24/2024: The public parking lot at the corner of E. Crowell St. and N. Church St. in Downtown Monroe will be closed through Friday, May 3 for repairs and repaving. There will not be an additional closure once the parking lot reopens.

Original 4/16/2024: 

The public parking lot at the corner of E. Crowell St. and N. Church St. in Downtown Monroe is scheduled to close for one week starting Monday, April 22 for curb removal and replacement.

The City will notify residents on our website monroenc.org and on our social media channels when the repairs have been completed and the lot is reopened. Please look for future communication on additional closures to this lot to complete the resurfacing and striping portion of the work.

This improvement is part of the Engineering Department’s 2024 road resurfacing and repair project scheduled to last through July 15.

All streets will remain open throughout the repairs but may be narrowed to one lane of traffic at times. Motorists are encouraged to avoid these areas during construction and take alternate routes when possible.

All work will take place as weather allows. Access will be maintained to property owners and businesses within the immediate work areas.
