Union-Anson County Habitat for Humanity, in partnership with the City of Monroe, is soliciting bids for a street project in Monroe, NC to promote affordable housing. The project is funded with Community Development Block Grant Funds through Union County. The bid opening will be managed by Union-Anson County Habitat for Humanity and is scheduled for Wednesday, April 5 at 9 am located at 3702 Old Charlotte Hwy, Monroe, NC. NOTICE TO BIDDERS
Union Anson Habitat for Humanity, Inc. has been awarded funding from the Union County Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Entitlement program to complete an infrastructure project which includes curb and gutter work, sidewalk and pavement of the road, along with sidewalk and concrete driveway work for two homes in East Village Subdivision.
Bids are invited on construction work consisting of, but not limited to, grading and fill work, approximately 100 LF of new 5’ wide concrete sidewalk, 200 LF of 2’ wide concrete valley curb and gutter, a 6 inch gravel base and 2” of asphalt paving with a temporary turnaround complete with 3600 PSI concrete and dead end street markers. Bid shall also include installation of two 4’ wide concrete sidewalks and two 12’ wide concrete driveways for two Habitat for Humanity homes located at 517 and 518 East Village Drive.
Contract documents, including drawings and Technical Specifications, are on file at the office of Union Anson Habitat for Humanity, Inc. which is located at 3702 Old Charlotte Hwy, Monroe, NC 28110.
The bid opening for this project will take place on Wednesday April 5, 2023 at 9:00 am at the office of Union-Anson County Habitat for Humanity, Inc. located at 3702 Old Charlotte Hwy, Monroe, NC 28110. Mailed bids should be sent to the same address with the exterior of the package clearly labeled, “East Village Infrastructure BID;” mailed bids shall arrive before the specified time.
This project is being funded in whole or in part by Union County’s CDBG program. All federal CDBG requirements will apply to the contract. Consultants and contractors on this work will be required to comply with the President’s Executive Order No. 11246 & Order No. 11375 which prohibits discrimination in employment regarding race, creed, color, sex, or national origin. Bidders must comply with Title VI if the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Davis-Bacon Act, the Anti-Kickback Act, the Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act, and 40 CFR 33.240. Consultants and contractors must also make positive efforts to use small and minority-owned business and to offer employment, training and contracting opportunities in accordance with Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968. Attention is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under the contract.
