Halloween Happenings 2023 Flyer

Join the Monroe Parks and Recreation Department for its annual Halloween Happenings event in Downtown Monroe on Saturday, October 21 from 2-6 p.m.

Halloween Happenings has traditionally been held in the morning hours, however, it will take place in the afternoon this year due to many of our recreation leagues taking place at the same time.

This is a family friendly event designed to provide entertaining, interactive, educational information to young children and the local community.

"Our goal is to provide an engaging, family-friendly, and fun event that fills all of our guests with inspiration for this spooky holiday," said Rae Moore, Athletic/Special Events Division Supervisor.

ABOUT THE EVENT

Families will be able to enjoy activities, games and crafts, a costume contest, inflatables, face painting, stilt walkers, prizes, candy, and more!

This year’s Costume Contest Registration will be available from 2-3:30 p.m. Judging will take place at 4:00pm. Winners (1st-3rd place) will be announced immediately after each category and awarded prizes.

In addition to this year’s Halloween event, Circle S Ranch is sponsoring a Turkey BBQ Competition. The goal of the Turkey Smoke Competition is to highlight the applications and diversity of turkey in barbeque. This portion of the event will begin at 7 a.m. and end at 2 p.m. Turkey Smoke competitors will be asked to stick around until 6 p.m. to provide samples to individuals.
