The City of Monroe's administrative offices will be closed Monday, May 29, in observance of Memorial Day.
Memorial Day is a day of remembrance for those who have died in service of the United States of America.
The “National Moment of Remembrance” is held at 3 p.m. and encourages all Americans “To voluntarily and informally observe in their own way a Moment of remembrance and respect, pausing from whatever they are doing for a moment of silence or listening to ‘Taps.”
A Memorial Day service will be held at 9 a.m. on Monday, May 29 at Lakeland Memorial Park at 1901 Lancaster Ave.
