The City of Monroe has contracted with Armen Construction for the installation of new sidewalk along the west side of Concord Avenue from Charlotte Avenue to Help Street. Beginning May 10, the southbound lane on Concord Avenue between Phifer Street and Charlotte Avenue will be closed for work to install storm drainage and sidewalk improvements in the area. The work is anticipated to take five days to complete, and the lane closure will be removed at the end of each working day. Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area during construction and take alternate routes. Barring weather delays, the lane closure should no longer be needed after May 14.
