About the Indoor Aquatics Area
Our indoor water-based fitness options include lap swimming, group water fitness classes, a whirlpool, a steam room, and a dry sauna. The impressive championship-sized pool has 8 lanes and a training pool. All are fully accessible by disabled members via a wheelchair ramp and hydraulic chair lift.
- Ages 9 to 13: Responsible adult must be on the pool deck or in the pool
- Ages 8 and under: Responsible adult must directly accompany child in the pool
- Ages 16 or older: Whirlpool, Steam Room, and Dry Sauna
A Responsible Adult is someone aged 18 and older who will provide parental supervision for a child.
Lifeguard Certification Classes
Registration is now open for our upcoming American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification Classes at MAFC! You'll gain the essential knowledge and skills needed to prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies. Classes run the weekend of February 20-22, so don't miss the chance to make a splash in your community! Register now at the front desk and secure your spot.
Swim Team Schedule
MAFC is excited to welcome back our Union County Public Schools (UCPS) swim teams. These swim teams use our pool for practice and training in preparation for their swim meets. We are honored to be a part of the swimming traditions in our local schools.
Teams use three of our lap lanes during the following times:
Mondays
- 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.
- 3:30 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.
- Tuesdays
- 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- 6:30 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.
- Wednesdays
- 6:00 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.
- 3:30 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.
- Thursdays
- 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- 6:30 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.
- Fridays
- 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.
- 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Group Swim Lessons
Every swim lesson is taught by a certified swim instructor whose goal is to make every member feel comfortable and safe in the water. Swim lessons are available for MAFC members only.
Each group swim lesson session typically consists of six lessons. Occasionally we have amended sessions around holidays and during the summer. Visit the swim lesson page for details about the next available session.

Storm & Lightning Policy
The pool area will temporarily close when storms are in the area. If thunder is heard or lightning is seen, the pool area including steam and sauna rooms will close for 30 minutes. The area will reopen following 30 minutes of no thunder or lightning. During this time, members will be asked to leave the deck.
Pool Rules
- Children 8 and under must be accompanied by an adult in the water within arms reach at all times.
- Children ages 9 through 13 must have an adult on the pool deck supervising. Children may not use the swimming pool without adult supervision.
- Non-toilet-trained children and children under 3 must wear a swim diaper and rubber pants.
- Adults should not swim alone.
- Swimmers must shower before entering the pool.
- Appropriate and modest swimwear is required. No street clothes in the pool.
- No public displays of affection (kissing, hugging, body contact, etc.).
- Only water toys are permitted in the pool. No hard sports balls in the pool.
- No large tubes or floats. Flotation devices may be used only at the discretion of the lifeguards and must be coast guard approved.
- No running, playing rough, shouting, spitting, or unhygienic actions.
- No diving.
- No glass containers or objects, chewing gum, alcohol, or tobacco products.
- No hanging on lane lines.
- No pets allowed.
- Obey the lifeguards at all times.
Steam & Sauna Room Rules
- Members ages 16 and older are allowed to use the steam room and sauna.
- Do not exercise or lay down in the steam room or sauna.
- Observe a reasonable time limit of 15 minutes, then leave the steam room or sauna to cool down before returning for another brief stay.
- Do not use the steam room or sauna if pregnant.
- Members with high blood pressure, heart conditions, or other conditions should only use the steam room or sauna for a maximum of 5 minutes with their physician's permission.
- Members are required to pick up all belongings, including trash, when exiting the steam room or sauna.
- Do not tamper with any sensors or equipment in the steam room or sauna. Tampering with equipment will cause damage to the steam room or sauna. Legal action will be taken for members who tamper with the equipment.
- No public displays of affection.
- No smoking/vaping in the steam room or sauna.
- No food in the steam room or sauna.
- Do not use under the influence of alcohol, tranquilizers, or other drugs that cause drowsiness or that raise or lower blood pressure.
Whirlpool Rules
- Caution: Pregnant women, elderly persons, and persons suffering from heart disease, diabetes, or high or low blood pressure should not enter the spa hot tub without prior medical consultation and permission from their doctor.
- Users must shower before entering the whirlpool.
- Do not use the whirlpool alone.
- Do not use the whirlpool under the influence of alcohol, tranquilizers, or other drugs that cause drowsiness or that raise or lower blood pressure.
- Observe reasonable time limits (10 to 15 minutes), then leave the water and cool down before returning for another brief stay.
- Long exposure may result in nausea, dizziness, or fainting.
- Keep all breakable objects out of the area.
- Unsupervised use by children is prohibited.
- Whirlpool is for members aged 16 and older.
- No public displays of affection allowed.

The Water Park is closed for the season. It will reopen for the 2026 season in May.
