2. Dowd Center Theatre Rental Inquiry Form

   The curtain is rising on a new opportunity at the Dowd Center Theatre. We’re excited to announce that 10 reservation slots are now available exclusively for 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations based in Monroe or Union County.

   Reservations will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis and must follow City of Monroe rental guidelines. Eligible organizations will receive access to the theatre space, support from our team, and the chance to host a memorable event in the heart of Downtown Monroe.

    Renters must adhere to the following list of criteria in order to rent the facility.

    1. 1. I understand that the organization requesting a rental must be a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Union County.
    2. 2. I understand that 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations based within the city limits of Monroe, NC will receive priority access to rental dates over those headquartered in Union County and outside of Monroe City Limits.
    3. 3. I understand that a deposit is required at the time of venue reservation.
    4. 4. I understand the refund/cancellation policy. Cancellation at or before 60 days prior to the event will receive full refund of deposit. Cancellation within 30 to 59 days prior to the event will receive a 50% refund of deposit. Cancellation within 30 days prior to the event will not receive a refund of deposit.
    5. 5. I understand that theatre staff retain the right to reschedule or refund the deposit for the event with 45-days notice, should a required use of the venue occur on the scheduled date.
    6. 6. I understand that private rentals can be listed on the Theatre Marquee for the designated price within the fee schedule and that the required language “Private Event” is also listed.
    7. 7. I understand that for all private rentals, all windows in the gallery area will be totally covered with black pipe and drape or an equivalent material.
    8. 8. I understand that all events – including private rentals – must adhere to the Theatre’s age restriction policy which requires each guest under the age of 18 to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
    9. 9. I understand that all productions and rentals must not present material which falls within the parameters of obscene or profane as outlined in N.C. General Statute § 14-190.1.
    10. 10. I understand that The Dowd Center Theatre/City of Monroe will be responsible for all alcohol concessions/sales.
    11. 11. I understand that The Dowd Center Theatre periodically has works of art on display within the lobby and gallery space and that those works of art are to remain on display during any private rental.
