The Monroe Fire Marshal Division has the authority to receive applications, review construction documents, and issue permits for construction and operations in accordance with the NC Fire Code. These permits are issued by the City of Monroe Permit Center. The applications and documents are reviewed within our Cityview software.
Plan reviews for commercial development, commercial renovations, fire alarms, fire sprinklers, fire suppression systems, storage tanks, land development and change of use/name are reviewed by the Fire Marshal Division. Permits that are submitted and approved are then inspected for compliance with the code.
