Parent's Guide to Visiting the Monroe Science Center

Science Center News Posted on December 05, 2024

Thank you for your interest in visiting the Monroe Science Center! Your visit is an excellent opportunity to learn and explore different principles of science. When visiting any science center, remember that there are a few things to do and not to do.

We want everyone to feel welcome, comfortable, and inspired by science.

Science Center Dos

  • Ask questions! Our staff is happy to answer your questions.
  • Check out our website in advance to understand what to expect.
  • Read the guides on exhibits. These are great interpretations to share with your children.
  • Arrive ready to be engaged. This museum is a place for everyone to explore together!
  • Get involved in the activities your children are engaged with. Try to figure things out with them, and don't just give them the answer.
  • Feel free to make suggestions to our staff. We always want to improve your experience, so feedback is welcome.
  • Take your time and plan to come back again. You might not see everything in one visit, and there may be something new during your next visit.

Science Center Do-Nots

  • Do not use things in unintended ways. You could hurt yourself or others and damage the exhibit.
  • Many of our exhibits are hands-on and interactive, but we still remind guests to use inside voices and walking feet so that they don't startle other visitors or hurt themselves. You may also miss something if you're moving too fast.
  • Do not eat, drink, or chew gum while exploring the Science Center. This helps keep the museum nice for everyone. We have a designated place outside that is open to all visitors. You also have all-day admission, so feel free to take breaks off-site and return later.
  • Do not change diapers outside of the bathrooms; this includes the nursing room.
  • Do not leave your children unattended. Guardians need to be with their children at all times.

We hope you found this helpful. We look forward to seeing you at the Science Center soon!
