Relief Supply Drop-Off Locations for Western North Carolina

The City of Monroe has several facilities serving as drop-off locations for relief supplies for the victims of Tropical Storm Helene in Western North Carolina. Donations will be accepted through Friday, October 11, 2024

The following locations are accepting donations: 

Monroe Aquatics and Fitness Center (2325 Hanover Drive)

  • Some items will be transported by Smith's Automotive & Wrecker Service to the Hearts with Hands organization in Asheville, NC. 
  • Accepted items: Non-perishable food items (canned goods), cleaning supplies (paper towels, disinfectant, mops, gloves, etc.), baby supplies (formula, diapers, baby food), pet supplies (dry and canned food), hygiene kits (razors, shaving cream, bar soap, shampoo, hand soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, etc.), medical supplies (non-prescription drugs, bandages, eye drops, sunscreen, chapstick, etc.)
  • Non-accepted items: Clothing or linens 

Charlotte-Monroe Executive Airport (3900 Paul J. Helms Drive)

  • Items can be dropped off at the main terminal building for distribution to the most impacted areas in Western North Carolina. 
  • Accepted items: Sports drinks (powdered packets), hydration packs (powder form), non-perishable food, cleaning supplies, trash bags (13 gallon and/or contractor bags), plastic sheeting/tarps, heavy duty work gloves, baby wipes, diapers (children and adults), baby formula, bug spray, sunscreen, plastic utensils, disposable plates, paper towels, toilet paper, manual can openers, toothbrushes, toothpaste, toiletries/sanitation items, feminine hygiene products, pet food (dog and cat), sanitizer wipes/hand sanitizer, socks (all sizes, unopened package), blankets, flashlights, batteries
  • Non-accepted items: Used clothes, HAZMAT, most chemicals (bleach), fuel, flammable items 

Monroe Police Department (450 W. Crowell Street)

  • Accepted items: Non-perishable food items (canned goods), cleaning supplies (paper towels, disinfectant, mops, gloves, etc.), baby supplies (formula, diapers, baby food), pet supplies (dry and canned food), hygiene kits (razors, shaving cream, bar soap, shampoo, hand soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, etc.), medical supplies (non-prescription drugs, bandages, eye drops, sunscreen, chapstick, etc.)
  • Non-accepted items: Clothing or linens
