The City of Monroe Water Resources Department has announced that all lakes are open and operating on a normal schedule.

In the wake of this week’s significant rainfall, the Water Resources Department is asking boaters to use caution when operating on City lakes. Boating conditions may be hazardous due to submerged and floating debris. Not all debris is visible; many pieces lie just under the surface of the water. The level at Lake Lee is approximately 30 inches below normal due to damage on the dam flash board system. The City is working with engineers to design and repair the flash boards. Boaters are advised to enter the lakes at their own risk.

Hours of operations are generally sunrise to sunset and can be confirmed by checking with the Lake Inspector stations at each lake. Below is a list of the lake information, which can also be found on our website at https://www.monroenc.org/Departments/Water-Sewer.
