The City of Monroe's Police Department held a "Swearing In, Promotion & Awards Ceremony" on Monday, Feb. 13, at the Dowd Center Theatre in Downtown Monroe.

- Officer Brianna Brito

Promotions:
- Chandler Cathey was promoted from Sergeant to Lieutenant
- Travis Furr was promoted from Master Officer to Sergeant
Awards:
- Officer Kendall Aycoth was awarded 2022 Monroe Police Department Officer of the Year
- Detective S. Christopher Helms was awarded the US Marshalls SVC Task Force Officer of the Year for the Charlotte-South Team
- Detective Garrett Mayer was recognized for being awarded Union County Crime Stoppers Officer of the Year. He was originally presented with the award on Jan. 20 at the annual Crime Stoppers BBQ.
