The Water Resources Construction Division will be performing investigative work in preparation of a water main repair on North Sutherland Avenue between Quarry Road and Roosevelt Boulevard. This work is necessary to enhance the water distribution system in this area. Construction activities are scheduled to begin on Nov. 15 and conclude by Nov. 19. Should adverse weather conditions detain work from being completed during this time frame, work will be completed the following week.

The southbound lane (travel direction from Walkup Avenue toward Roosevelt Boulevard) of North Sutherland Avenue will be closed between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. each day work is scheduled. All vehicles travelling south should detour the area by turning east onto Quarry Road and south onto Venus Street to access to Roosevelt Boulevard. Emergency service vehicle access will be provided at all times. Normal collection of garbage and residential/commercial deliveries will be provided access.

There may be a short-term interruption to water service during construction of the new water main, and the Water Resources Department will make every effort to notify customers in advance.

All damaged/disturbed items will be restored or replaced at the end of the project. We apologize in advance for any inconveniences experienced during our construction. If you have any questions or concerns, please call the City of Monroe Water Resources Department at (704) 282-4601.
