The City of Monroe has contracted with Armen Construction for the installation of new sidewalk along the west side of Concord Avenue from Charlotte Avenue to Help Street. Beginning Monday, March 22, Armen Construction will close Secrest Shortcut Road between Patton Avenue and Concord Avenue. Work will begin in the area to improve the alignment of the Secrest Shortcut Road/Concord Avenue intersection and install the sidewalk in the area. The work is anticipated to take 20 days to complete. Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area during construction and take alternate routes. Barring weather delays, all work on Secrest Shortcut Road should be completed by Monday, April 12.
