The City of Monroe Construction Division will be installing approximately 270 linear feet of water main along Charleston Street between Griffith Road and S. Johnson Street. The improvement will enhance water service to customers in this area. Construction activities are scheduled to begin on March 15 and are anticipated to conclude by April 9.

Temporary road closures may be necessary within the project limits between the hours of 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Therefore, it is suggested that alternate routes be considered. The City will make efforts to maintain access to all residences along Charleston Street between Griffith Road and S. Johnson Street. Emergency service vehicle access will be provided at all times. Normal collection of garbage and residential/commercial deliveries will be provided access.

There may be a short-term interruption to water service during construction of the new water main and transfer of services. The City will make every effort to notify customers in advance. All damaged/disturbed items will be restored or replaced at the end of the project.
