Racial Equity Challenge

Uniting to learn and grow together.

The Racial Equity 21-Day Challenge is a powerful opportunity for shared learning and growth that invites people in the Charlotte region to develop a deeper understanding of how inequity and racism affect our lives and our community.

Sign up at uwccEquityChallenge.org for the 21-day self-guided learning journey that begins on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day – January 18, 2021.

  • FREE to participate!

  • Receive an email every weekday January 18–February 15 highlighting a different topic with links to recommended articles, videos, podcasts and more.

  • Topics include racial identity, intersectionality, housing affordability and homelessness, race and health, legal system inequity, allyship and more.

It’s Easy to Sign Up and Participate

  1. Visit uwccEquityChallenge.org and complete the form to sign up. It’s free, quick and you simply need an email address to get started.

  2. Use our social media materials to share that you have joined the challenge and encourage others to join, too. I just signed up for the #uwccEquityChallenge, hosted by United Way of Central Carolinas and I challenge John Doe and Jane Doe to join this powerful opportunity for shared learning and growth! Sign up at uwccEquityChallenge.org and challenge two or more of your friends, too.

  3. Read, watch or listen to at least one item each day. Beginning January 18, 2021, you will receive an email each weekday with a few articles, videos, podcasts, etc. related to that day’s topic. Choose at least one resource to explore, and feel free to journal about your thoughts or chat with others about what you learned.

We hope you will join us for the Racial Equity 21-Day Challenge with United Way of Central Carolinas. Our goal is to reach 10,000 participants for the challenge, and we want you to be one of them! Let others know about this meaningful learning opportunity by forwarding this message to them.
