Our goal is to provide a clean, healthy, and safe environment for those who live and work in this City. Not only do we take an active role in abating nuisances, we also serve as an instrument for building a sense of community pride and involvement.
Below see some of our current services. We also offer an online form that may be used to notify us of a problem. We encourage you to call us with any questions or comments on how we can assist you.
- Public Health Nuisances include high grass and weeds over 18” in height.
- Junk, rubbish, trash, including discarded furniture-This includes any item that cannot be used for its original purpose. These items cannot be stored outdoors. If you are not sure about allowable storage, please call us.
- Using indoor furniture outside of the home is not allowed.
- Minimum Housing Standards-Everyone deserves a clean, safe place to call home. Chapter 153 addresses substandard living conditions. You should always notify your landlord first. Property owners are responsible for maintaining their property. If they refuse to make necessary repairs, call us, and we will work with both parties to help resolve any issues. Keep in mind that tenants have responsibilities as well.
