Since 1957, The City of Monroe Energy Services Department has provided residents in and around the City with natural gas services, from small space heaters to industrial loads of 1000's of Dt's per day.

Today, we provide natural gas services to 8,684 customers in and around Monroe including Wingate, Marshville, Unionville, and parts of central Union County through the operation and maintenance of 310 miles of main line. We are a wholesale customer of North Carolina Natural Gas, and one of only eight cities in North Carolina providing natural gas service.

The Natural Gas Division of Monroe Energy Services has 15 employees dedicated to providing reliable, responsive, quality services to the Community at the lowest reasonable costs. Our staff provides courteous, personal service to meet our customers' unique needs, making Monroe a better place to work and live.
